We believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to health and fitness, so we aim to capture the variety of ways women choose to be active to give you ideas and inspiration on how to live your best active life.
Tell us about yourself
My name is Danni Vee, I am 39 years old and a woman’s health and wellness specialist. I have 2 children with number 3 on the way and an AMAZING partner.
When I'm not building my tribe and empowering women everywhere, I love to be active myself by competing in body competitions, going to a reformer pilates class and more. I also love to read and play the piano
What does active living mean to you?
Active living to me means a health mind. Being active has the ability to raise your mood naturally and clear your head of negativity. It also keeps you looking and feeling younger too!
What do you like to do to stay active?
I like weights training, suspended fitness training and reformer pilates. I also keep active while training clients.
What is your definition of healthy?
Healthy to me means to love who YOU are. Health starts in the mind. When you fuel your mind with positive thoughts and intentions you are more inclined to fuel your body with foods rich with nutrients. In turn you will keep active to move your body and show it the love it deserves.
Have you always been active and healthy?
No. When I was in school I was hopeless at sports. I couldn’t throw or catch a ball. I had no confidence to participate in any team sports. Growing up my appearance was put down and I was told I was just “big boned and solid”. I didn’t feel I belonged in the “active scene”.
What is your daily or weekly routine (if you have one)?
Being pregnant I have slowed down a lot. Currently I do 2-3 reformer classes a week and maybe a couple of 15 minute suspended fitness workouts slotted in when I have time and energy.
What daily habits keep you fit and healthy?
Morning prayer, affirmations and intentions. This is a must. I find the days I don’t do this it is easier for negative thoughts to come in and ruin my day. I also focus on fuelling my body for energy and keeping away from highly processed, sugar laden foods. I always ensure to move my body every day, if not my own workout, then I will be joining in with my clients.
What is your best active living hack?
If you can only fit in 10 minutes, DO IT! Something is better than nothing and this is often all you need to keep your body healthy and feeling great.
Favourite healthy meal?
I'm all for Creative salads or buddha bowls
What health craze are you guilty of loving?
X50 green tea
What challenges do you need to overcome in order to achieve healthy and active living?
Juggling my career. I run a very busy woman’s wellness business as well as building my own personal brand to empower women to love what they see in the mirror. I love teaching women how to calm their “busy” lifestyle and choose balance but still have it all. I also have 2 primary school aged children that I make time for every day (including school pick up and drop off), I am growing my 3rd baby and still working 12-14 hour days! Despite all of this I still love to make time for my partner every day. I believe my morning ritual keeps me focused and grateful for the amazing life I have.
What is the best ‘side-effect’ of staying healthy and active?
A great positive mental state and of course looking and feeling fabulous.
What (or who) inspires and motivates you?
Being a role model to my children I love showing them you can achieve anything you desire if you are willing to do the hard work. My incredible clients also inspire me every day. Their stories are inspirational and they motivate me to be a better coach every single day
How do you overcome negative thoughts?
I do a lot of work with an amazing healer. I also use prayer, affirmation and intentions. I am also very blessed that my partner is my best friend so talking things over with him can help me step away from the drama of the thoughts and see the logic from an outside point of view.
How do you practice self care?
Taking time out with my family. I also use my exercise as “me” time as well as my morning ritual of prayer, affirmations and intentions.
How do you manage days or periods where you are not as motivated?
Discipline! I’m a big believer that motivation is not always going to cut it. You need to dig deep and find your inner strength through discipline and dedicated focus of working towards your goals.
What do you do to treat yourself?
Spend time with my partner. I love our time together. As we met when I already had 2 small children we have never had that “honeymoon period” of just being us. We always have the kids with little outside support so when we have time alone we soak it up and appreciate every second of it.
